What Causes Tremors In The Hips And Legs?

Hi, the last few days, I ve had an experience that concerns me. I will stand up and feel like my hips and legs are shaking inside my body. I will feel like I need to grab something or I ll fall. I have either sat down or grabbed a counter until the feeling goes away. It does go away quickly. This has happened 3 or 4 times.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to orthostatic intolerance.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- a head-up tilt test
- complete blood count for anemia
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

In the meantime, I recommend increasing salt intake and take plenty of fluids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
