What Causes Trigger Finger In The Left Hand?

I have trigger finger in my left thumb. 6 weeks of sleeping with a brace have not helped so I am being advised to try a steroid injection in my hand. I had a cancerous kidney removed last may. Will the cortizone affect the remaining kidney?Note that so far I am cancer free.

As per your question is concerned only two injections will be required to see the response and it has no impact upon kidney.After that do surgical treatment which will cure permanently.(Thanks)
