Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Trouble Finding And Remembering Words?
I am having trouble finding words, finding my thinking is foggy, and now I am having trouble remembering things I should know. The other day I could not remember one of my employees names. I hired him and today I couldn t recall one of our administrative assistants names and I talk to her every day. It is getting worse.
Being unable to recall the names of some people and later remember them it is very common, and the more busy someone is the more likely it is for this to happen. On the other hand, this can be due to some abnormalities as well. I would recommend you to have a thyroid check- TSH. If the thyroid is normal then you will need to have a mental state examination with your doctor to rule out dementia (this is especially important for people over 55 years of age).
Meanwhile, make sure you eat and drink well and rest as needed so that the brain can rest enough to process new information and provide good memory.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
