What Causes Twitching Sensation In The Arms And Legs?
took prescribed cipro for 6 days and started weird problems, supposed to fight sinus problem and slight uti, 1 week after I started cipro I had bad stomach pain and started peeing every few minutes after drinking water or Gatorade. Then joints and Achilles started aching. then began cramps and twitches mainly in legs. now I have twitching in all limbs. started taking cipro feb 1 and stopped feb 7. still having twitched. how do I get rid of this twitching?
you could be suffering from benign fasciculation syndrome where the muscle cells are irritated and start twitching. the underlying reasons could be stress or lack of magnesium or frequent use of stimulants or lack of sleep. To rule out muscular dysfunction get an EMG done. If all tests are ok then take adequate rest. add magnesium in diet in the form of nuts, green leafy vegetables and wheat bran. In severe cases gabapentin can be given in addition to vitamin B complexes. tab. ciproflxacin could be the precipitating factor as it could cause peripheral neuropathy in certain cases. discontinue the cipro and have neurobion Forte and meyhylcobalamine twice a day.
