I had cataract surgery about 8 months ago. I also have Graves disease that has affected my right eye. Just this past month my right eyelid has started twitching off and on throughout the day almost everyday. It s annoying to say the least. Any advice?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understsnd your concern. Eye twitching can follow eye stress &irritation eye lid inflammation...conjunctivitis... dry eyes/fatigue,/lack of sleep/use ofakcohol.. tobacoo or caffine or smoking. It's not a typical sign of graves disease. *Try to reduce e ertion &fatigue. Have sufficient sound sleep, avoid excess use of tobacoo, alcohol,ßmoking or caffine. Drink sufficient water &nourishing food.,Use artificial tears drops in case you have dry eyes. * Mostly eye twitchings go over the time..(few days to few weeks time.. if it does not.. opthalmologist's consultation to find & treat specific pathology is advised. Thanks.
