i have a leg ulcer on my ankle- my dr. advised me to wear a support sleeve, which i am doing. altho,i am wearing it almost continually, and the ulcer is better (no bleeding), the ulcer still maintains a small scab. the dr mentioned surgury.. is that the only alternative and if so what does it entail? thanks
Hi. As per your case history of ulcer on ankle, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid irritation on that part. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Apply a placentrax gel twice daily on it for faster healing. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
