What Causes Ulcers On The Mandibular Tori, Sore Throat And Fullness In Eye?
hi. I have a double mandibular tori and noticed that I have developed a large ulcer on each. I have a sore throat and my ears feel full . Several months ago I had a ball under the ear/in throat that food would get stuck on. At the time it was determined nothing could be found . Do you think these two incidents could be related?
Ulcers in the mouth are commonly caused by bad oral hygiene, infection, bruise or injury while brushing with a hard brush, tissue inflammation due to food allergy, spices or bruise.
Vitamin B deficiency (Riboflavin) or iron deficiency may cause mouth ulcers. Symptoms like sore throat, fullness in the eyes/ears may be due to mandibular tori.
You are suggested to see a dentist & get clinically assessed. There is no need to remove mandibular tori if it does not interfere with daily activities or produce symptoms otherwise it has to be.
You may need antibiotics & anti-inflammatory. The treating doctor may tell you to get a few blood & imaging tests done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
