Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have these bumps on my tongue right after I got done eating popcorn (I ve been eating a lot of popcorn for the past three days) and if left like something was in the back of my throats in kept drinking fluids to help (what I thought was a piece of popcorn) go down but I looked in the mirror and it s little bumps on my tongue, why is that? Everytime I swallow it feels like something is in the back of my throat
Bumps on the tongue after eating lots of popcorn can be due to irritation on the tongue surface and it can cause inflammation of tongue papilla leading to transient lingual pappiltitis.. Any popcorn kernel might be stuck on the back of tongue or throat or bumps at the very back of tongue that can also be due to inflamed circumvallate papillae can cause feeling of something in the back of throat.. Once get an examination done by a doctor to confirm that is there anything struck at the back of throat or tongue or not.. If nothing is found then doing warm saline gargles and taking a soft diet can help in reducing the size of bumps.. Also gargle with antiseptic mouthwash and suck ice pops..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
