Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Unbearable Pain In Legs After EVRF Treatment?
My name is Dinesh,42 yrs old male suffering from thrombosed superficial veins since last five years. 2 years back I went for EVRF SCLERO THEREPY,in one leg ,which has left me with UNBEARABLE PAIN in both the legs. although am wearing compression stocking but still suffering from pain. please advise what should I do.
As per my clinical experience, the unbearable pain in legs after sclerotherapy is not a normal counterpart to take as granted. The most common cause is being blockage of venous return through superficial valves of the subcutaneous vessels. It is best recommended to take a Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb vasculature for best evaluation of underlying cause and further management in accordance to that only.
Primary relieving factors: - Leg elevation while resting - Continue compression stocking use - Analgesic and anti-inflammatory medications - Avoid smoking if involved - Control of body weight and blood sugar
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
