Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my father, 77 yrs old suffered from years of TMJ and lost his teeth in his early 50. He has dentures that get adjusted periodically but he still has uncontrollable neck spasms. We have seen primary care, ENT, and speech pathologist. Any suggestions?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Neck spasm may be due to pathology in temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ). Pathology in TMJ affect both the jaws and it can also affect the neck muscles. I suggest you to consult your ENT specialist / dentist for treatment of underlying cause. This may be followed by physiotherapy.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
