What Causes Uncontrollable Trembling After Kidney Lithotripsy?
My husband had a kidney lithotripsy done yesterday and is home recovering. Is there a reason why he would start to uncontrollably shake and tremble without having a fever? I can feel the muscles on his face Trimble too. I m keeping my eye on him. I will take him back to the Hospital if his temperature continues to rise. i was just curious about why this would happen.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
It's normal to have some blood in urine or slight burning in urination after lithotripsy for coule of days. But fever (may be low grade) with trembling is a definite sign of infection which might have been there before. He needs antibiotic for this. Please consult the surgeon for suitable drug in suitable dose for him. You can cover him with blankets. Feed him light warm food, give tab Crocin over the counter and alkaline syrup (1-2 spoons) with plenty of of water.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
