Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey my name s Cody. I have a question do to my head having uncontrollable twitches. I haven t experienced this before the age of 19 or atleast that I noticed. It s caused much anxiety and pressure on my behalf of participating in the real world and being apart of the outside world. I m 20 now so I m getting a little better with the depression it s causing but still break down at points. I looked some stuff up and without a doctor I ll always be clueless. I ve thought I might be retarded or dislexic. I ve even been looking into some stuff about Parkinson s and how that effects the neurons in the Niagara (can t spell it) part of the brain. Could you help me figure this out or narrow down what it could and could not possibly be?
We have to rule out possible causes like a hemifacial spasm and other movements disorders. Keep in mind that excessive anxiety can also cause similar symptoms. If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
