What Causes Under Eye Circles In A Child?

Hi my 3 year old has these dark circles under his eyes. His sleeps well through the night but doesnt nap during the day. I took him to the doctor amd she said he was fine. She just took a look though, she didnt do any blood test except for iron and his iron is good. Should i be concerned?

Hi,

A few causes of dark circles in kids are genetic, some people have thinner skin beneath their eyelids making veins more visible as dark circles, anemia or less hemoglobin, dehydration, sun exposure, allergies or chronic nasal congestion.

As a physician has already examined your kid and his iron is normal too, you don't need to worry at all. Let him have at least 10 hours of sleep at night. Make him to drink more water. If he is otherwise healthy, you don't need to worry at all.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
