What Causes Unfocused And Distracted Thoughts While On Gabapentin?

hi, i have recently been put on gabapentin 100mg for hot flashes, I have been on the drug once a day for about 2 1/2 weeks now. I have been having problems focusing on things and seem to loose my train of thought more often then before, could this have anything to do with this drug??

Gabapentin belongs to the group of medications known as antiepileptic medications that is used in the treatment of seizures or convulsions, nerve pain, primary restless legs syndrome etc. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. Some users may experience some side effects while they are on this medication.

It may cause some cognitive problems which may contribute to memory loss, trouble with thinking, confusion, altered mental status etc. If you notice such type of side effects during taking this medication, then you should consult your doctor immediately for medical help.
