Hi,

There can be may reasons that can cause the problem of unfocused vision. In your case considering your age first thing that comes to mind is Cataract which can be more in right eye compared to left eye. Blurred focus in right eye disturbs the clear focus of the left eye when both are used together.

Near vision is probably affected due to presbyopia which will require you too wear reading glasses. Development of Ocular muscle weakness with neurological changes is also common. This can cause double vision especially for near if your converging muscles have gone weak. Dry eyes can cause blurr but that will be temporary and will decrease after blink and after using artificial tear. If your blurr persists and blinking doesnot change anything we will have to think of something else.

Finally anti-depressant medicine (like venlafaxine) can cause changes in retinal cells leading to degeneration of tissue and loss of vision clarity. In Your case I advise you strongly suggest to consult an Ophthalmologist to identify the cause of vision defocus and get it corrected according to the advice given. We are there for any queries that still bothers you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Ophthalmologist
