What Causes Unintentional Rapid Weight Loss For A 21-year-old Female?
I am a 21 year old female and have been experiencing rapid weight loss, unintentionally. I have lost 13 lbs within the past 4 months and cannot seem to stop losing. I have not changed my eating habits and am starting to get concerned. I am currently 5.2ft tall and weigh 104.2lbs. I have not had a firm stool in over 3 weeks, even though my diet is balanced and I live an active lifestyle. I am starting to get concerned as to why I cannot seem to stop losing weight.
* As there is significant weight loss without efforts or food change and history of not getting a firm stool for 3 weeks, the cause of intestine in terms of inflammatory bowel condition is most striking.
Kindly consult your physician for further evaluation in this regard before it flares up and deteriorates other body systems. Till that time, drink plenty of liquids to maintain hydration at its best.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
