What Causes Unpleasant Odour In Nasal Cavity When With A History Of Sinus Infection?

I have had a sinus infection for a couple of months now and have been given various antibiotics over the course of that time. For the past few days I have noticed a very rancid smell in my nose. Nothing smells right, all I can smell is something rotten.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bad odour from nose with a history of having sinus infection indicates that there is flaring up of infection and bad smell in nose i due to sinus infection as the sinuses drains through nose..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and MRI or PNS view of sinuses can help in confirming the diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take antibiotics like Cephelexin, steam inhalations with few drops of Eucalyptus oil in it, saline nasal irrigations, steroid nasal sprays .
Oral and nasal decongestants like Phenylphrine can also be advised for relief..
