What Causes Unusual Genital Odour?

Hello, I just realized today (after a few days of a foul smell of my private area) that I accidentally left a tampon in from my last cycle. My cycle ended about 2 weeks ago. I was able to remove the entire tampon myself, but I am just curious if I need to see medical attention. thank you

Hello,

The tampon may have caused a bacterial infection based on the foul smell. So, I recommend to do a vaginal swab test to exclude the infection. Otherwise, I suggest to maintain a good hygiene.
