What Causes Unusual Sensation In Head And Left Side Of The Face?

hi, i feel strange in the head (for a short while) and then the left side of my face around my mouth feels strange. this has happened for many years. It comes, then goes away for months at a time then comes back for a few weeks. I had the feeling in my face checked out probably 20 years ago with a scan and they found nothing. I have had a very bad neck for many years also. Had X-rays and it shows my neck goes in the opposite direction it should.

Hi,

As per your complain it seems that the feeling of strange sensation on one side of face that occurs every after few days seems to be due to nerve related disorders. It can be related to trigeminal nerve that is the nerve of face and supplies sensation to the face. Other cause can be related to facial nerve that supplied the muscles of face. Any disorder related with these two nerves can lead to discomfort, pain, unusual sensation over the affected side of face.

I would suggest you to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI Scan, Nerve conduction tests, Electromyogram can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. As of now you can start taking Vitamin B complex and zinc supplements.
