Hello and welcome to HCM,
Altered smell sensations is called
anosmia.
Anosmia occurs due to some kind of disorder of the nasal epithelium or lining of nose which has receptors for smell.
Damage to nasal epithelium can also lead to altered smell sensations.
Damage can occur due to strong chemicals which damage the neuroepithelium and thus result in altered smell sensation.
Clinical assessment is required to test the response of neuro=epithelium of nose.
Thus, I suggest you to consult an
ENT specialist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
The headache and spasmodic pain can be secondary to strong smell sensations.
The condition can be managed after clinical assessment, investigations and diagnosis.
Thanks and take care
