What Causes Unusual Weight Gain, Fatigue, Puffy Face, Irregular Menstrual Cycles?

my thyroid results came back at 2.8 . I have all the symptoms, I read that on the borderline I should get medication (I have unexplained weigt gain and unable to lose it with diet and exercise, fatigue, puffy face, irregular menstrual periods etc.). I know I need medication, but the doctor did not want to give (she said she could, but thaen she said she won t. I would need your advise on what to do. thank you.

Weight gain, puffy face, irregular menstrual cycles can be a result of thyroid problem or even Gynecological problems involving your ovary. your thyroid result of 2.8 is ambiguous as there are 5 thyroid tests on the whole (TSH, T3, T4, Free T3, Free T4) and I am not sure which one you did. Secondly the unit of measurement of each of the tests varies between different labs. So you also need to mention the unit. is it 2.8 IU or 2.8mg% etc.. Secondly to rue out ovarian problems, one needs to know your age, your previous obstetric history(no. of pregnancies) etc
