What Causes Upper Abdominal Discomfort After Eating Food Post Withdrawal From Omeprazole?

Recently I have been experiencing discomfort (which comes in waves) in my upper stomach region after some (not all) meals. It does not feel like heartburn, but it definitely seems to be a digestive issue. I should add that I am trying to cut back on taking omeprazole (sp?). I had been taking it every other day for approx. 2 years for acid reflux. After hearing of the side effects I cut back to twice a week.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain is not severe then I would suggest you wait for couple of days and manage it with OTC pain killers. If after few days there is no improvement then you must visit a doctor. Getting a physical examination done is always better than worrying about it all the time. Take adequate rest and minimize movement of your arm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
