What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain After Swallowing A Mouthful Of Boiling Rice?
My 14 year old son swallowed a mouthful of near boiling rice with a sauce and has complained of pain in upper abdomen whenever he swallows. It has gotten a bit better since it happened, but still causing discomfort. He puts that pain at 5 on 10 point pain scale. The question is if there is anything we can or need to do of it will heal or improve with time.

It will improve with time for sure. It is due to the hot rice or spicy sauce. Can give antacids like omeprazole empty stomach for few days
