What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain And Back Pain During Night?

I have had upper left abd pain and upper left back pain for 2 nights. It stops when I stay sitting up, so slept in a recliner last night. Took 500mg Naproxen, also. No SOB. + indigestion. If wasn't a weekend, I would have gone to ER. I am a 61 y/o female w/ high cholesterol, but normal b/p and glucose. No pain in the daytime, but exhausted from poor sleep.

Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears to be the gastric pain due to gastric irritation due to peptic ulcer, or irritant foods. The other possibility is the renal colic, or pancreatic pain.
I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
You may need to have a gastroscopy, and M.R.I. for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, and antacid gel.
Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
