What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain In A 2 Year Old Baby?
I have a 2 and half year old who keeps complaining of upper left abdominal pain throughout the day. Her stool is soft and she goes 1-2times per day, she eats reasonably well. Her stool tonight was loose and smelt of fishy, and her abdomen looked distended after tea this evening. Should I be worried?
Hii , Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here
abdominal pain in your child can be caused by variety of medical conditions from common intestinal colics to serious diseases and it needs thorough medical check up and investigations to spot a confirm diagnosis
however abdominal pain is not uncommon in children and most of them are related to gastro intestinal infections such as viral ,bacterial or protozoal infections leads to soft stool and diarrhea and can be treated easily but some times these can be the initial presentation for serious illnesses including pancreatitis
So You must Need to evaluate it from ur doctor he will do thorough physical examination and may go for necessary medical investigations including an ultrasound , stool examination , X ray etc to rule out any underlying medical condition
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
