What Causes Upper Back Pain, Nausea And Vomiting During Post Pregnancy Period?
I just had a baby a month ago and my upper back will all of a sudden hurt right in my spine. It is always in the same place. Sometimes I throw up or get nauseated. I find only drinking a ton of water will help. I have low iron and had a natural birth. Could my back be out? I read an article that said being dehydrated can cause you back vertebrae to shrink and the bones rub. It is very painful when it happens. I have been drinking lots of water. I am also breastfeeding.
Upper back pain associated with nausea & vomiting chiefly occurs due to digestive & intestinal issues. To avoid extreme physical weakness or worsening symptoms, take ORS, electrol, soups & juice, stay well hydrated. You can take antacids, one SOS & acetaminophen, one SOS to get relieve. Take nutritious food & adequate sleep. If possible change the mattress on which you sleep. Avoid stress, do not eat under-cooked food. Eat food that is easily digestible. If you are very uncomfortable, get clinically assessed by your gynecologist or GP, you may need an X-Ray done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
