Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I keep having left upper rib pain under by left breast and to the side. It feels like lymph nodes when I try to massage it. I ve had it for years. I feel it more when I lie down and I try to massage the area and it feels sore.what can i do to get rid of it, what causes this problem?
You have a history of pain below the left rib since years, now you can feel some kind of enlargement.
You are suggested to visit a GP, get clinically examined & assessed to detect any enlargements in the spleen (cyst, abscess, cancer). However, such symptoms may arise due to IBS, gastritis, costochondritis, rib fracture.
You will have to go through a few blood & imaging tests. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
