What Causes Urea Nitrogen Of 25 When Having Type 2 Diabetes?

I had a test result for Urea Nitrogen that was 25. What causes this? I know the normal range is 7-25. I am a type two diabetic. My cholesterol use to be at 274 and now is the lowest ever for me at 159. However my a1c has now gone up from 7.8 to 11.2. Not sure what is going on can you give some answers?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir

It is clear that your parameters like glycated hemoglobin, sugar levels and renal status have gone up

It might be due to altered blood glucose profile. Since glycated hemoglobin is uncontrolled and serum cholesterol levels are very high it will alter the blood urea and nitrogen levels so it will go up.

Secondly increased protein diet will cause increase in the blood urea and nitrogen.

So taking all these things into consideration, it might be due to uncontrolled diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.

So basic things is to control these parameters.

Thanks
