Dear patient,
I understand your concerns about your urinary symptoms.
The following points should be taken into consideration:
1- This is most likely a UTI. the following tests are needed : urine analysis and urine culture. And you must be given the right antibiotic according to the sensitivity test of the urine culture.
2- you can look for other symptoms of UTI in your case such as burning sensation upon urination, a bad smell of urine, waking many times during the night to pee, feeling that your bladder is not empty after voiding. These symptoms might not be present but if they are they support more the diagnosis of a UTI. However only the urine culture is the way to confirm this diagnosis.
3- to prevent future UTI's it is recommended to do the following :
a- Drink plenty of liquids, especially water. Drinking water helps dilute your urine and ensures that you'll urinate more frequently — allowing bacteria to be flushed from your
urinary tract before an infection can begin.
b- Wipe from front to back. Doing so after urinating and after a bowel movement helps prevent bacteria in the anal region from spreading to the vagina and
urethra.
c-Empty your bladder soon after intercourse.
d-Avoid potentially irritating feminine products. Using deodorant sprays or other feminine products, such as douches and powders, in the genital area can irritate the urethra.
e-Change your birth control method. Diaphragms, or unlubricated or spermicide-treated condoms, can all contribute to
bacterial growth.
