Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 7 year old daughter is complaining that she feels like she has to pee really bad. This is almost a nightly occurrence. We have taken her in to be tested for a UTI but that came back negative. She has been using a heating pad but tonight the urge to urinate is very strong again. She advised that she is not in any pain, there is no burning sensation and no pressure sensation. She was constipated a few days ago but we gave her some pedia-lax and that seemed to help.
Hello there. I have read through your question and can understand your concern. Nocturnal enuresis is a common occurrence in many children. Most of the time s it's due to voluntary control of bladder during daytime which causes nocturnal enuresis. You can opt for the bell alarm system to solve this problem. You can consult your pediatrician regarding this. Also any psychological stressors like school pressure should be ruled out. It is also advisable to get her abdominal sonography to rule out any anatomical abnormalities in the urinary tract. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
