What Causes Urinary Incontinence After Treated For Bladder Cancer?

I had my prostrate removed in 2000, then required radiation in 2002. No problems since then except in February in developed Bladder cancer, had surgery and all appears well. However, since the surgery in February I am incontinent. My Urologist thinks I may benefit from a sphincter. What is their track record?

Hello,

The sphincter (valve-like mechanism) of your bladder is defective probably be due to cancer.

You will improve with sphincter reconstruction surgery. However, keep in mind that it is a complicated procedure and hundred per cent result is not guaranteed.
