my dad is 78. last Friday he could not urinate during the night and went to the ER on his own and had a catheter inserted. He took it out Monday. On Tuesday he went to the VA and had another one inserted because he could not urinate again. For the past few nights now, my mother has found the bed wet from urine (full bag or leaking) and what looks like diareah stains on the sheets. For the past two days he has been running to the bathroom frequently (everyone hour or so) and is not quiet about his difficulty with passing a bowel movement. He has diabetes and is not following doctors instructions for taking medication. Also, he has been showing increased signs of short term memory loss and unable to problem solve. He has had several stints (about 5) a number of years ago for his heart.
