What Causes Urine Report To Be Normal With Renal Cortex?

My son 11 year old boy just did ultraound - he has one kidney and report shows renal cortex is mildly echogenic and there is poor visual corticomedullary differentiation suggestion medical renal disease. His urinalysis report shows all OK with kidney. What does this mean?

Hi,

The poor corticomedullary differentiation suggest chronic compromise in kidney function from various reasons. Urine report may be normal as it is not mandatory to have infection with this.
