Hi,

Tuberculosis in uterus is secondary to TB of the lungs or other organs such as kidneys, meninges, skeletal system and gastrointestinal system. TB bacilli infect the uterus by four routes - blood route (with lungs as the common primary focus), descending direct spread, lymphatic spread and rarely as primary infection of the genitalia through sexual transmission. It does not spread through saliva or kissing. You are unlikely to get your eyes infected if you touch them with your hands.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
