What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy 18 days ago. Everything has been going well until three days ago. I started bleeding more with some cramping and the color was bright red. My lower back ached as well. Now I have the sensation that I am menstruating and even urinating when I stand.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my surgical experience, the vaginal bleeding is most commonly due to stump site infection, loosening of vicryl stitch in usual cases. The urge to urinate may be secondary urinary infection, reflex cystitis or others. An examination of speculum with your OBGY is must to proceed further for the precise management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
