What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Pelvic Fracture?
HI I recently was diagnosed with a pelvic fracture I have no idea how I got I just turned and felt a pop, I m 41 my dr has ordered a bone density scan as well as full body scan I have stared vaginally bleeding about 2 weeks early from when I should have started my normal period but I am bleeding worse than I ever have clots and just pouring blood I soak a tampon and overnight pad (I m having to wear both) in an hours time and I have been doing this straight for ten hours is this a reason to see my dr or is it just doing this bc of the stress of my pelvic fracture?
I would recommend you to see your doctor as there is no direct relation between the pelvic fracture and the vaginal bleeding outside of a trauma.
There are two reasons for this: one is to make sure you are not loosing too much blood and developing anemia (CBC test will be needed in this case) and the other reason to see the doctor is to have a vaginal examination and possibly a transvaginal ultrasound to make sure all is well.
I hope this answers to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
