Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I got married this past weekend and we were both virgins. For 2 days we struggled to have sex successfully. It was extremely sore for me and after the second time we tried I was bleeding a little and there were loose pieces. It was very little bleeding but still the second attempt was unsuccessful. However we tried again last night and it was still sore however finally felt that it is in and it no longer hurt. After that, I bled quite a lot. I assumed it would have stopped by the morning. However I am still bleeding especially when I go to the bathroom. How long is normal to bleed and how much? Should I be concerned?
The post coital bleeding is normal but if it exceeds 24 hours or the bleeding amount is large then you need to get yourself examined by Obstretician as it could be some cervical poly that is bleeding or some perineal tear. For intercourse try using lubricants and that will ease the process.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
