What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?

Hi I had intercouse with my fiance for the first time on Saturday and it started bleeding so we stopped it. Traces of bleed were found until Monday morning. On Tuesday morning again I saw traces of blood. My periods date is on 18 so is this a sign for periods or is this normal ? When will the bleed stops?

Hi,

Bleeding is common when you have intercourse on the first few occasions. This is due to rupture of a membrane called 'hymen'. Bleeding can happen in traces until all the membranous tissue is ripped off. Gradually, it would stop on its own.

Such bleeding has nothing to with getting your periods. Kindly wait for your due date for periods to happen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
