What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Masturbation?

Hi, I've noticed that sometimes after I've masterbated (clit only) I've started to bleed out of my vagina. This has only happened 2 or 3 times after I've masterbated and this last time it happened I was on my period and I was supposed to be finished. The other times it happened it was in the middle of my periods so it might have been a coincidence and I was just spotting? Please let me know what you think- thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vaginal bleeding after clitoris stimulation is not at all normal. It could be due to hormonal imbalance, injury, cervical erosion/dysplasia, polyp, fibroid, cervicitis. Vaginal bleeding usually occurs because the uterus contraction.

I would suggest to consult gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination, vaginal swab test, USG scan, PAP smear if needed. Specific treatment depend on cause. Take warm water sitz bath with added betadine. Maintain proper pelvic hygiene.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
