What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Receiving A Rocephin Shot?

I got a shot of rocephin yesterday to treat an infection from an animal bite. I was also prescribed Augmentin for ten days. Within a few hours I started to experience vaginal bleeding -- despite the fact that I should be ovulating this week. Is this common, or does this mean I could have also had another infection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Unscheduled vaginal bleeding does occur in women. It is not serious most of the times. It does not seem to be related to the drug or infection.

Yes, any stress can cause abnormal bleeding. So if you are fine otherwise just you can wait that it settles, which is most likely. If not you can see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
