Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Stopping Depo Shots?
I have had the depo shot on the 3rd of July and came off it on the 3rd of October, I experienced bleeding the whole time I was on it, over a month later an still experiencing bleeding but with cramps and I also feel dizzy from time to time, sometimes it hurts when I go to the toilet.
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. It is normal to bleed for a few months after having the depot shots as the body needs to get adjusted to the high levels of hormones. Since you said you have stopped the shots , what you are experiencing now is withdrawal bleeding. Slight cramping and abdominal pain can be relieved by taking Tab Meftal spas. But if you are experiencing pain during micturition you should consult your gynaecologist for any other underlying problem. You may be advised an ultrasound for further information. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
