What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Postinor 2?
I took postinor 2 few weeks ago two days after I had unprotected sex..now,my period is not supposed to come until the fifth of may but I started seeing blood that is not frequent on the 29th of April..went for pregnancy test and was confirmed negative...pls can this be the cause of the postinor2 that I took or what?

Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive pill that contains levonorgestrel. The patient’s next period may be early or delayed by 1 week owing to the mechanism of emergency contraception. Thus, your bleeding is a side effect of Postinor-2. Anyhow, period duration between 21 to 35 days is normal. Yours is not abnormal, just early because of Postinor-2.

A few side effects are menstrual disturbances like early or late periods, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness and breast tenderness.
Hence, early periods can be a side effect of Postinor 2. So please relax. From next time your periods will be normal.
