What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps In The Absence Of Periods?
I am a female age 53 in good health but over weight. I have not had a period for 2.7 years. Yesterday I started bleeding from my vagina. Slow at first but more now. Almost like a period I use to have. About 2 weeks ago I had some very bad cramps in my upper abdomen. I had a PAP test last year and it was normal.

Starting of vaginal bleeding after one year of menopause is called post-menopausal bleeding.
Post-menopausal bleeding is most commonly due to endometrial growth.
I suggest you to consult a gynecologist for clinical assessment, pelvic ultrasound and endometrial biopsy.
Histopathological examination of endometrial biopsy will determine the nature of endometrial growth.
