What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Discomfort After A Intercourse While On HRT?
I m a 67 year old female who is on HRT but am experiencing some bleeding and discomfort after intercourse. Is there something I can do to lessen the discomfort. We are NOT being overly active in fact I asked my husband to be particularly careful because I am having this problem.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Bleeding after intercourse in menopausal woman who is on HRT could be due to following reasons: 1. Vaginal mucosal erosion due to lack of enough lubrication. 2. Cervical pathology like cervical mucosal erosion or cervicitis or fragile growth in the cervix. You need to get the following things done to find out the cause, which could be treated accordingly. 1. Per speculum examination by Gynecologist. 2. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen. Kindly consult Gynecologist for further evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
