What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Lower Back Pain Post Menstruation?
I finished my menstrual cycle on Monday and I started bleeding again today. My periods usually last 6 days..I have been having pain in my lower back for a few days now that is not anything I normally have along with my period..wondering if it could be my kidneys?
welcome to hcm, I really appreciate your concern, You may consult A/E department for anearly review.
May i Know your age? as, Risk of uterine malignancy is quite low before the age of 40. However, this pattern of blood loss can leave you anemic. So, evaluation & treatment are necessary. Most important test you need is a pelvic ultrasound to see if there is any organic problem. Yes kidney pain can be a lower back pain but it is rarely associated with vaginal bleeding
You surely need a Gynecologist opinion. As your speculum examination by an expert is necessary to exclude any polyp or other obvious pathologies. It would be unsafe for you to take hormonal pills without testing. Until your evaluation you may take Mifenamic acid 500 mg TDS, if you have no contraindication. Best is to visit an emergency department for evaluation & to get a prescription. Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions, Thanks. Regards.
