What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Weight Gain While On Depo Provera Shots?

I have been on the Depo Provera shot for 9 months now. The first shot worked, the second and third did not and I have now been spot bleeding for the last 6 months. I have also gained 13 pounds. I am in my 40s so I am not using it for contraception but rather to stop pre-menoupausal bleeding. Can you suggest other types of non hormonal medications to stop pre-menopausal bleeding that does not make you gain weight. Thanks for your help.

I really appreciate your concern, the best way to get rid of this thing is to stop all the medicines and wait for some time and everything would be fine soon, no need to have any hormone medicine now, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
