What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During 38 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I lost my mucus plug yesterday. I just went to the bathroom and after wiping I had a small amount of blood on the toilet paper, but it wasn't like a discharge more like what it would look like if it were from a period. Do I need to call the doctor?
Hi welcome to healthcaremagic. I have gone through your question. Vaginal bleeding at 38 weeks must be scanned with ultrasound. As it may be due to placenta praevia, which covers internal os and may cause bleeding. So i would advise to consult gynecologist as early as possible and do ultrasound scan. Hope i answered your question. Would be happy to help you further. Take care.

What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During 38 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic The mucous plug is discharged prior to onset of labour but the actual labour may not start days or up to a week after it is seen. You would not need to call your doctor at this point unless you have started to have abdominal pain indicating that labour has begun. If there is no pain or any other signs (water break) then you can monitor at this point. I hope this helps
