What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse?

Hi i need advice i had sex with my husband after my period...as soon as i had finish on friday...on saturday i had sex we had doggy style n suddenly i was bleeding not much..but me n my husband are worried...but only doggly i had bleed but after we tried cowgirl sttle was all good not bleed at all

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing your history following is/are recommended guidelines:

1. Sex can make you bleed soon after your periods stops and some menstrual piece (debris) stay behind in the uterus and during sex due to contraction in the uterus wall the left over can come out resulting in bleed.

2. Doggy is a deep penetration position and cervix an bleed lightly for a little while, but if this continues to happen it is better to consult an ObGyn doctor.

3. some other causes to exclude vaginal bleeding after intercourse are:

. Inflammed cervix
. Endometrial or cervical cancer
. STD's/vaginitis/cervicitis
. Uterine fibroid tumors/polyps on the cervix
. PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease)
