Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had several silver nitrate treatments for bleeding that occurred during sex. It didn t matter what type of sex- long durations, hard, soft, didn t matter- I bled like crazy. My doctor even mentioned when I get papsmears I bleed. So we did 5 weeks of silver nitrate treatments, and now only bleed when getting a papsmear. Do you know what it may have been that caused the bleeding?
Vaginal bleeding during intercourse could be due to the following reasons:
1. Mechanical injury to vaginal mucosa due to lack of proper lubrication.
2. Presence of uterine or cervical polyps.
3. Inflammation of cervix (cervicitis) or cervical cancer.
4. Presence of pelvic inflammatory disease.
PAP smear examination and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen should give an idea of what could be the cause for the bleeding.
Kindly consult your doctor with the reports for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
