Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
57 years old, my last period was 9.2012 and I am now having signs of having one. Started with a dark brownish blood and then became normal, not flowing barely getting anything on a pad. Having some discomfort today and still bleeding some not a lot only noticeable when using the bathroom. Is this normal?
Hi, I think it is not normal to have postmenopausal bleeding. You should get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist. Get a ultrasound done to see endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, go for an endometrial biopsy to rule out endometrial carcinoma. It can also be due to atrophic changes. Hope it helps.
